A&K Sanctuary to open lodge in Amboseli

A&K Sanctuary is set to open Kitirua Plains Lodge near Kenya’s Amboseli National Park on June 1 next year. The all-suite property will be located on a private concession bordering Amboseli, just 10 minutes from the park’s main gate.

The launch marks Abercrombie & Kent’s return to the region where Founder Geoffrey Kent first introduced a modern luxury safari camp in 1962. Kitirua Plains Lodge will comprise 13 standalone suites, including two two-bedroom units, designed in partnership with Luxury Frontiers.

Facilities will include a spa, gym, swimming pool and communal boma. The lodge is positioned to offer uninterrupted views of Mount Kilimanjaro and access to habitats ranging from open plains to seasonal wetlands.

Guests can join daily game drives, cultural visits with the local Maasai community and optional hot air balloon experiences.
