The Botswana Tourism Organisation and Mozambique’s tourism development and investment agency, ANDITUR, FP, have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen tourism cooperation with focus on marketing, investment and quality assurance.
The partnership will support the development of multi-destination experiences combining the two countries’ wildlife, beach and marine, cultural and adventure offerings. Tour operators, DMCs, airlines and other tourism businesses will be encouraged to develop and promote joint itineraries in selected international markets.
Cooperation will also cover air connectivity as well as MICE, sustainable and digital tourism and skills development. The agreement provides for sharing of tourism statistics and market intelligence, investment facilitation, familiarisation visits and joint research and marketing initiatives.
The two institutions will establish a joint technical committee to coordinate and monitor activities and develop a five-year action plan.
