Great Plains to open private villas at Mpala Jena

Great Plains Conservation will open two exclusive-use villas to complement its Mpala Jena Camp near Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, in August 2025.

Mpala Jena Private Villas will be situated five kilometres upstream from the main lodge, offering views over the Zambezi River.

Great Plains Conservation CEO Dereck Joubert said the addition of the new villas aligns with the company’s strategy of accommodating longer stays and multi-generational travel in each of the portfolio’s locations.

Each villa will include three luxurious riverfront suites for families and small groups, a private main area, swimming pool, private butler and dedicated safari guides.

Guests will also be allocated their own private safari vehicle and motorised boat at no additional cost. When water levels allow, guests will have access to a dhow for sunset or sunrise cruises on the river. Each two-night stay will also include return Victoria Falls International Airport transfers or Victoria Falls Town road and boat transfers. A guided half-day tour of the falls is also included.
