Legacy properties upgrade and refresh

Legacy Hotels & Resorts has announced a series of exciting upgrades and new product developments across its properties, enhancing guest comfort, modernising facilities and introducing luxury offerings for both leisure and business travellers.

Pilanesberg

Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge in Pilanesberg National Park has several infrastructure projects under way. 

Improvements to the drainage system have been made and paving and gutter cleaning are ongoing, ensuring the grounds remain guest-ready. Following higher-than-average rainfall, the lodge has also accelerated its thatched roof maintenance programme, preserving the property’s authentic bushveld aesthetic. 

Additionally, perimeter fence replacement is under way, with completion expected soon.Tshukudu Bush Lodge, also in the Pilanesberg National Park, has upgraded its fleet of ten-seater game vehicles, enhancing comfort and aesthetics for safari guests. 

The vehicles have fresh paintwork, new roof and side structures and reupholstered seats. 

Tshukudu has also revamped its outdoor boma area, including upgraded ablutions and a new perimeter fence.

Centurion 

The Centurion Hotel has unveiled an entirely new category of deluxe rooms on the fourth and fifth floors, combining sophisticated design with enhanced amenities. 

The Deluxe Queen, Twin, King and Luxury Rooms all feature newly renovated bathrooms with larger showers, elegant tiling and state-of-the-art fixtures. 

Added touches include a welcome drink on arrival, superior tea and coffee stations, slippers, turndown service, minibars and the convenience of room service from the hotel’s Bruno’s On The Run menu.

Windhoek 

In Namibia, the Windhoek Country Club Resort has commenced construction of a new pool deck bar and restaurant, set for completion by September. 

The project, executed in two phases, will keep the pool area open during initial construction, with a pool upgrade scheduled for the winter months between June and September.

Swakopmund 

Also in Namibia, the Swakopmund Hotel & Entertainment Centre will refurbish all guest bathrooms between January and August. 

While only minor disruption may occur, guest comfort remains a priority. 

Recently, the property completed a heating, ventilation and air-conditioning upgrade across all rooms, as well as the casino and conferencing areas, ensuring a consistent, climate-controlled experience.

Cape Town

In the heart of Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront, both The Commodore Hotel and Portswood Hotel have undergone exterior refreshments with repainting projects. 

Near KNP

Looking ahead to 2026, Legacy will launch the River Suites at Elephant Point, an ultra-luxurious development along the Sabie River near Kruger National Park. 

Offering 60 duplex and simplex suites with panoramic river and bush views, the vehicle-free sanctuary (golf carts only) promises a five-star experience with centralised hotel facilities, a restaurant, spa, gym, conference space and kids’ amenities. 

Located just 8km from Paul Kruger Gate and 24km from Skukuza Airport, the development aims to redefine relaxation in the heart of nature.
