Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille has confirmed that Sechaba Motsieloa was appointed Interim CEO of SA Tourism in May despite no formal public announcement of the leadership change.
Responding to questions from Tourism Update, De Lille confirmed that she approved the SA Tourism Board’s selection of Motsieloa.
The confirmation comes after recent industry communications identified Motsieloa as SA Tourism’s Interim CEO.
De Lille said Shamilla Chettiar was seconded from the Department of Tourism between February and April and has since returned to her original position, Deputy Director General of Destination Development, to deal with the audited financial statements for the Auditor General.
