Natural Selection will open Moklolwane Plains, a new safari camp in Botswana’s southern Okavango Delta, in July 2027.
The camp is located along the Xudum River within the 200 000 hectare NG29 concession, which has only one other camp. The area encompasses floodplains, palm islands, lagoons and riverine forest and supports year-round wildlife viewing.
Moklolwane Plains will initially comprise five under-canvas suites with a family suite and private villa scheduled to follow later in the year. Each suite will offer 100 square metres of interior space as well as private outdoor areas, shaded salas, daybeds and plunge pools. Indoor and outdoor showers will also be available.
The camp’s design will draw inspiration from traditional safari tented camps with elevated structures, natural materials and open views across the Delta. Communal areas will be positioned around a large fig tree overlooking the floodplain.
Activities at Moklolwane Plains will include game drives, mokoro and boat safaris and helicopter safaris.
Natural Selection said the camp’s opening will also increase investment in wildlife monitoring and conservation across the concession while supporting conservation education initiatives in surrounding villages.
