Ennismore has announced its first hotel signing in South Africa with the launch of Mama Shelter Cape Town. The property will open in the City Park building, formerly home to the Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital in the city centre.
The hotel will include 127 guest rooms across three categories and 68 branded residences, comprising 36 studios as well as 23 one-bedroom, five two-bedroom, three three-bedroom and one four-bedroom units. Public facilities will feature 213 square metres of meeting room space, 380 square metres of co-working space, a gym and a rooftop restaurant along with a pool and pool deck with panoramic views of Table Mountain, the Atlantic Seaboard and the city skyline.
Mama Shelter Cape Town will also debut Mama Play, a new concept for the brand: an arcade complete with bowling, karaoke, dedicated food and beverage (F&B) and event spaces.
A separate restaurant on Bree Street, one of Cape Town’s main hospitality corridors, will be operated by Ennismore under one of its F&B brands.
The opening date has not yet been announced.
