The Westcliff appoints new GM
Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff, Johannesburg, has appointed Pieter Ham as General Manager.
Ham joins from Swire Hotels where he held senior positions at The Upper House in Hong Kong and served as General Manager of EAST Beijing. His previous experience includes QO Amsterdam and The Woodward in Geneva where he oversaw food and beverage operations.
A graduate of Hotelschool The Hague, Ham also holds a finance-focused MBA from Nyenrode Business University.
He plans to strengthen the hotel’s connections with Johannesburg’s cultural, creative and business communities.
“Whether someone is staying with us for two nights or joining us for dinner, they should feel cared for, recognised and genuinely welcomed,” says Ham. “That comes from the people behind the experience and I am excited to build on the strong culture already in place at The Westcliff.”
Jonathan Worsley Joins ACG Board
African Collaborations Group (ACG) has appointed Jonathan Worsley to its advisory board. Worsley is also currently Chairman of The Bench, a global hospitality investment forum.
After beginning his career at Forte and Holiday Inn, Worsley moved into senior hotel advisory roles at PKF Hospitality Group and CBRE Group. In 1997, he founded a benchmarking company called IHIF Berlin, which merged with STR in 2008 to create STR Global.
ACG says Worsley has shaped the modern hospitality investment landscape for over two decades and is the force behind industry innovation initiatives such as the Future Hospitality Summit (FHS) Startup Den.
“Through The Bench and FHS, Jonathan has built the pre-eminent global convening platform for hospitality investment and, through FHS Africa specifically, he has assembled the very community of investors, operators and developers ACG needs as we originate bankable sport and entertainment district ecosystems across the African continent. His presence on our advisory board is a genuine strategic asset,” said Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard, Founder and Executive Chairman of ACG.
