Seychelles is showing early signs of recovery following disruptions linked to the Middle East conflict.
According to the Seychelles National Bureau of Statistics, visitor arrivals increased by 14.1% year on year in August following a slight increase in July and four consecutive months of declines.
August arrivals totalled 34 987, up from 30 667 in August 2025, following a 1.8% year-on-year increase in July when arrivals increased from 31 068 to 31 628.
First-time visitors accounted for 91.3% (31 948) of August arrivals while repeat visitors represented 8.7% (3 039). Europe was the largest source region, accounting for 66.6% (23 301), followed by Asia at 21.2% (7 401).
Seychelles recorded 232 970 visitor arrivals in the first eight months of 2026, which is 8.3% fewer than the 254 142 in 2025. However, the 2026 figure was 1.2% higher than the 230 299 arrivals recorded during the first eight months of 2024.
