Stables at Vergelegen is closed until further notice following a fire last Tuesday (March 3) resulting in extensive damage to the restaurant. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
The fire was confined to the restaurant thanks to the swift response of firefighters. Patrons and staff were safely evacuated and nobody was hurt.
Vergelegen Wine Estate’s facilities remain open including the gardens, library and manor house. Wine tasting experiences and garden tours continue as normal. The Stables play area is also open.
