Experience
• Degree or Diploma in Tourism Management or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years (In s similar position) in operations within the remote tourism field
• Strong leadership, budgeting, problem-solving skills
• Strong people skills

Title : Camp Manager – Operations, Logistics & Maintenance
Department : Camp Operations – Back of House
Reports To : Company Directors / COO
Supervises : Maintenance (Plumbing, Electrical, Building), Transport & Mechanics (Vehicles, Guides), Stores & Stock Management, Camp Safety & Security, Internal Procurement & Logistics, Finance.
Internal Contacts : All operational staff, Nairobi procurement & HR, fellow Camp Manager – Hospitality
External Contacts : Suppliers, contractors, local authorities, community leaders
Purpose
To ensure the efficient and sustainable functioning of all camp infrastructure, logistics, systems, and support services, aligned with Cottar’s environmental values and operational excellence.
Core Responsibilities
• Maintain infrastructure: tents, power, plumbing, equipment, vehicles
• Oversee camp stores, ordering, waybill tracking, inventory, and audits
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance schedules
• Lead safety, hygiene, and fire-risk systems
• Implement security protocols and monitor guard teams
• Coordinate guide logistics, transfers, and guest vehicle readiness
• Ensure all licenses, insurances, and compliance standards are met
• Act as the camp’s risk officer, ensuring health and operational safety
• Develop and oversee CapEx and repair budgets
• Supervise camp financial matters and reporting thereof
