Josh Elliott
Josh Elliott is a second-generation safari operator in Zimbabwe. He owns and runs Matobo Hills Lodge, the 17-chalet lodge his family opened in 1994 inside the UNESCO-listed Matobo Hills near Bulawayo. He also owns Khami Lodge. Later this year he launches ZimTravellers, an inbound tour operator that sells Zimbabwe through people who live it day-to-day, not from a desk overseas. His columns are the unvarnished view from inside the business: guest complaints, staffing calls, OTA frustrations, rate-card dilemmas, and the operational choices that quietly make or break a stay. They are candid, specific, and rooted in what actually happens between check-in and check-out rather than what shows up in the marketing. His LinkedIn essays have built a steady readership of lodge owners, tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers and tourism marketers across Southern Africa, the UK and Europe. Expect specifics, contrarian takes, and the occasional argument.
