Seychelles will see expanded airlift for the 2025-2026 season as Edelweiss and Condor return to the islands joined by newcomer Discover Airlines. The three carriers will add capacity from Europe, complementing the network already provided by longstanding partners from the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Edelweiss resumed seasonal flights from Zurich on September 27 – operating until May 2026. Condor reinstated its services from Germany on September 19 and has extended operations until May 15 next year. Discover Airlines will launch its inaugural Seychelles flights from October 25 with two weekly services.
Sustainable growth
Speaking to Tourism Update, Bernadette Willemin, Director General for Destination Marketing at Tourism Seychelles, said the concurrent presence of Condor, Edelweiss and Discover Airlines confirmed resilient demand from the DACH region. “It signals diversified demand across leisure segments and shows that travellers are booking further ahead for destinations that offer quality, safety and nature-led experiences,” she said.
The DACH market remains one of Seychelles’ most reliable bases, contributing strongly in volume and yield. Willemin said the added lift would allow for “steady, sustainable growth rather than spikes, more first-time visitors balanced with repeaters and stronger shoulder-month performance. Our aim is quality over quantity, with higher average length of stay and spend per visitor, supported by airlift that matches on-island capacity.”
Condor’s decision to operate until mid-May aligns with Seychelles’ strategy to ease pressure on peak periods. “Extending into May strengthens the late-season shoulder, supports price stability and allows more equitable distribution of business across islands and service providers,” Willemin said.
She noted that expanded connectivity has a direct impact across the value chain. “Reliable lift underpins SMEs and guesthouses, nature and cultural experiences, supply chains and more stable employment opportunities, particularly for youth and women. It also enables greater dispersion of visitors to lesser-visited islands and communities,” she said.
Willemin added that Tourism Seychelles is working to ensure sustainable growth by diversifying source markets, promoting low-impact experiences and encouraging airline partners’ sustainability initiatives.
“By pacing growth, smoothing seasonality and keeping sustainability at the centre, we’ll translate new seats into resilient value for communities, businesses and our natural environment,” she said.
