Hold a street party and tell SA Tourism about it!

SAT is calling all towns and cities to host their own ‘Tourism Streets’ on September 30.

At the conclusion of Tourism Month and to celebrate the launch of the We Do Tourism movement, South African Tourism is inviting towns and cities around the country to host their own ‘Tourism Streets’ on September 30.

Chief Marketing Officer of SA Tourism, Margie Whitehouse, explains: “The concept is similar to Last Thursdays in Vilakazi Street and First Thursdays hosted in Johannesburg and Cape Town, but we want these streets to happen everywhere.” She adds that communities can collaborate to sell food, create music and offer other activities to show the country that everyone can “do” tourism.

She invites those interested in participating to let her know the tourism streets they are planning to host in their town and says SA Tourism will assist by amplifying the message via its social network platforms. She can be reached by email at goitsemodimo@southafrica.net.
