Peermont’s Mmabatho Palms Hotel Casino Convention Resort has donated R60 000 to the Mafikeng Hotel School for three students who each qualified for a R20 000 bursary.
In a ceremony held on March 20, General Manager of the Mmabatho Palms, Tracy Mkhize, handed over the cheque to the Rector of the Mafikeng Hotel School. In the past, Mmabatho Palms Hotel sponsored two students, and this year increased the number of bursary recipients to three.
Addressing the students at a formal handover ceremony, Mkhize said it was always a pleasure to come back to the Mafikeng Hotel School to honour the hotel’s commitment to a worthy cause.
Mmabatho Palms and the North West Parks and Tourism Board have, over the years, established a sound relationship that continues to benefit local deserving students who are enrolled with the Mafikeng Hotel School for a variety of three-year courses within the Tourism and Hospitality Management curriculum.
