TOMSA (Tourism Marketing Levy South Africa) collectors will delight in the new levy collector benefits that have been negotiated on behalf of members by the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA).
According to Tanya Jansen van Rensburg, Membership Relations and Marketing Manager, the TBCSA recently concluded an updated deal with SA Tourism in which TOMSA levy collectors are entitled to a number of benefits.
These include:
• 9.2 BEE score points in terms of the BEE Tourism Charter
• The opportunity to distribute marketing material to SA Tourism offices worldwide.
• Preferential profiling on the SA Tourism website provided the establishment is graded with the TGCSA.
• Preference as a possible co-exhibitor at various trade exhibitions according to SA Tourism’s selection criteria.
• Part of the preferential pool of offerings considered when SA Tourism hosts international guests for familiarisation trips.
• An opportunity to educate SA Tourism call centre staff on your product offering on the last Friday of each month.
• To be a part of the annual TOMSA Lekgotla where you can have your say and gain insight into SA Tourism’s marketing plans.
• Give your marketing insight to inform global promotion of South Africa by SA Tourism during the road show.
• Preview to SA Tourism’s annual and long-term plans ahead of other players
• Quarterly feedback on SA Tourism’s marketing programmes.
• Be the first to receive information on SA Tourism.
Attendance at this year’s TOMSA report back sessions were better than in previous years, confirms Jansen van Rensburg, who will welcome any feedback from industry members on whether they found this year’s sessions interesting, whether they will attend next year and whether they will join TOMSA, and if not, why?
TOMSA was set up in 1998 to provide additional marketing funding for SA Tourism for promoting destination South Africa internationally.
