Litunga joins Peace Parks Foundation Board

Peace Parks Foundation has appointed Lubosi Imwiko II, the reigning Litunga of Barotseland, to its Board of Directors.

The Peace Parks Foundation said the appointment reflects Imwiko’s leadership in western Zambia where conservation and community wellbeing have been central to regional stability.

He has also supported the Kafue-Zambezi Community Forest Project focused on forest protection and community livelihoods through carbon offsets.

Werner Myburgh, Peace Parks Foundation CEO, said: “His Majesty joining our Board matters. It brings traditional leadership into the heart of how conservation decisions are made at a time when that alignment is critical. Conservation at scale endures when it is built together with the people who carry responsibility for these landscapes.”

AHIC announces Chair and founding Board

The Africa Hospitality Investors Council (AHIC), powered by the Energy & Environment Alliance (EEA), has announced its Chair and founding Board members.

Olivier Granet, Managing Partner and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Kasada Capital Management, has been appointed Chair.

The founding Board includes:

  • Jameel Verjee, CityBlue Hotels Founder and CEO
  • Graham Wood, V&A Waterfront CEO

AHIC said it will operate as an independent body within the EEA investor network and serve as a collective voice for sustainable hospitality investment in Africa.

According to the announcement, AHIC will engage with ministries, investors and regional bodies to improve investment conditions, strengthen transparency and support long-term growth in the hospitality sector.

The council said its priorities include mobilising African and global capital, influencing policy to unlock projects, reducing investment risk across the hotel value chain and improving disclosure and procurement systems.
