AFTER six years of planning, Relais Hotels has announced its newest development, the Harbour Bridge Hotel and Suites, set to open in January 2009 in the Roggebaai Tourism Precinct in Cape Town.
The development will be the first hotel in the precinct, with the site positioned on the doorstep of the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) and nearby the V&A Waterfront. The hotel will comprise six floors with a fresh water canal running through the hotel, complete with ‘Venetian’ water-taxis, linking the city to the sea. Accommodation will be available in 40 quality rooms overlooking the canal and 17 luxury suites overlooking the harbour.
As the Roggebaai Tourism Precinct developments take shape, the hotel will offer close access to a number of other facilities – including a luxury railway terminal and a pedestrian walkway linking the CTICC with the V&A Waterfront. There is still another site for development available for a large international brand hotel within the precinct.
Another development by Relais Hotels is the soft refurbishment of the Bantry Bay Luxury Suites in Cape Town, due for completion before the summer of 2008.
