The refurbishment of the Protea Hotel Upington is set to be complete at the end of October. The hotel is one of nearly 20 hotels in the portfolio that are being upgraded.
The revamp includes an upgrade to the existing 61 rooms, the addition of 29 rooms, a new restaurant, gym and conference centre.
“The new development has created 15 new staff positions within the hotel, which will be filled with the target of youth empowerment in mind,” said Protea Hospitality Group Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue, Danny Bryer.
“This reaffirms the hotel owners’ commitment to improving their properties for the best guest experience, and maintaining the Protea Hotels brand standard that sees most of our business originating from return guests, ” said Bryer.
