The Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI) has announced its new sector chairs for 2013-2015.
The chairs were elected following an online nomination and voting process involving SAACI members. The SAACI forums were instituted in 2011 to facilitate information sharing between individuals in specific sectors of the business events industry.
The new chairs are as follows:
-Conference and Events Forum: Keith Burton of African Agenda, the only sub-Saharan member of the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers;
-Destination Marketing Forum: James Seymour, CEO of the Durban KwaZulu-Natal Convention Bureau;
-Exhibitions Forum: Conrad Kullman, Group Sales and Marketing Director of the 3D Group;
-Services Forum: Denver Manickum, Owner of I-Cube Advertising;
-Technical Forum: Bruce Dorrofield, Branch Manager for Impro-Vision;
-Transport Forum: Brownen Shaw, Sales Manager at the Avis MICE Division;
-Venues Forum: Esmare Steinhofel, Business Development Manager: International at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
Nina Freysen-Pretorius, National Chairperson of SAACI, said voting in all forums had led to very close results. “We are very pleased with the interest and healthy competition and are confident that the elected individuals will make a huge contribution to the future growth of SAACI,” she said. “We look forward to working with them on the national board.”
