Satsa reaches out to those affected by the Knysna fires

Satsa will waive its 2018 fees for members who were affected by the recent fires.

Southern Africa Tourism Services Association (Satsa) will waive its 2018 membership fees for those affected by the Knysna fires, as voted by the National Executive Council.

“Although Satsa has many members in the Southern Cape region, it has sought previously to service these from Cape Town. The result has been sub-optimum for all concerned,” said David Frost, CEO of Satsa.

A meeting will be held on August 1, at Fancourt in the Western Cape, to discuss a potential Satsa Chapter for the Southern Cape region from 10h30 until 12h30. The possible new chapter will encompass members from Mossel Bay to Plettenberg Bay to the Klein Karoo, which will enable a more productive series of conversations and focus on the area.

CEO of SA Tourism, Sisa Ntshona, will give an overview of the latest developments at SA Tourism, including the new ‘We do Tourism’ campaign. Ntshona will also be available for a Q&A session. Frost will give an update of current issues facing the sector, as well as an overview of Satsa benefits. To RSVP, email sharon@satsa.co.za

This year’s SATSA Conference, taking place at Spier from August 16 – 18, will also include a panel discussion on growing geographical spread to areas such as the Southern Cape and product development in lesser known areas. To register to attend the conference, click here
