Hosted buyers from 16 countries including Bulgaria, India, China, France, Germany and the United Arab Emirates have been confirmed for the Sports and Events Tourism Exchange (SETE) exhibition, which takes place from October 28 -30 at the Durban International Conference Centre.
The Hosted Buyers are predominantly final decision makers in their industry followed by researchers, planners and organisers, says Thebe Reed Exhibitions, the company behind SETE.
Now in its fourth year, the event is expected to attract major local and international role players in the sports, events, culture and tourism sectors.
SETE will offer a comprehensive international hosted buyers programme giving international buyers the opportunity to visit the exhibition and interact with exhibitors through pre-scheduled meetings, attend conference sessions and networking events. The key objective of the programme is to connect international buyers with local service providers and product owners.
The International Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT) in the United States, which was hosted as a buyer in 2012 will be returning in 2014.
In 2012, the IPPT was able to make the right contacts and connections through SETE, and as a result the IIPT World Symposium on Sustainable and Peaceful Communities and Nations will be held in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng Province in February 2015.
“I am looking forward to returning to the Sports and Events Tourism Exchange 2014 as I found my last visit to the Exchange a most productive and enjoyable experience,” said President of IPPT, Louis D’Amore. “SETE provides an excellent platform to meet and network with other professionals in sports, tourism and events with similar and complementary interests in an atmosphere that enhances win-win outcomes.”
For 2014, SETE will host buyers in the following categories: international sports federations, national sports federations, sports clubs, event organisers and rights holders to international events as well as festivals, sports tour operators and organisers of mega sporting events.
