&Beyond now offers a selection of specialist safaris at its luxury lodges and camps in South Africa. Each safari is guided by expert rangers with the use of an open 4x4 safari vehicle.
Walking safaris are available at most of &Beyond’s South African lodges, while specialised tracking safaris allow guests to stalk animals on foot accompanied by an armed specialist ranger and tracker team, who show guests how to read animal behaviour.
At &Beyond Phinda Private Game Reserve in KwaZulu Natal, guests can choose from a range of specialist safaris, including birding and a bush skills adventure course. Private family safaris are available to cater for families, while keen photographers are hosted by a professional photographer and ranger team.
With a growing reputation for leopard sightings, the Phinda Private Game Reserve now offers a specialised leopard research safari where guests can join rangers as they search for and locate resident leopards whose movements are being tracked as part of a research project. The ‘7 Wonders in 7 Days’ safari combines Phinda’s wildlife opportunities with the diverse adventures available nearby, such as scuba diving, horse riding and scenic flights.
Also on offer is the five-day ‘Ngala Experience’ which explores the Ngala Private Game Reserve in the Kruger National Park on a combination of walking safaris, game drives, a sleep-out in the bush as well as a helicopter flight over the Blyde River Canyon.
