Sanctuary Swala Camp, in a secluded area of Tanzania’s Tarangire National Park, has recently added new ‘social spaces’, enhancing the visitor experience.
They include a restaurant that serves local and international dishes, a gin bar serves crafted gin cocktails, and a wooden-decked boma. Twelve large new pavilions house bespoke furniture and artworks, as well as king-size beds, and each has an expansive elevated terrace overlooking a busy waterhole.
Sanctuary Swala offers activities that include game drives, bush dinners and picnics, as well as the opportunity to visit the Sanctuary Retreats Philanthropy Projects. These include the Mwika Beekeeping Project, – which is intended to increase the bee population as a sustainable source of income for local beekeepers. The honey is sold to the lodges for guest consumption and in cooking, and beeswax candles and soap are also made.
