TBCSA and SA Tourism comment on Rattray murder

THE Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) and South African Tourism have both expressed dismay and concern over the murder of David Rattray. Moeketsi Mosola, ceo of SA Tourism, said that an incident such as this had significant and negative consequences for everyone and that every South African needed to understand that tourism benefited all. The TBCSA supported this sentiment and added that the horror of David’s death will add to the pressure that the tourism industry was experiencing and should convince all concerned parties to tackle the issue of crime head on. They also encouraged the tourism industry to work with their employees and local law enforcement agencies to protect and serve tourists during this time of heightened criminal activity. Both parties have extended their condolences to the Rattray family. Tessa Blane (tessab@nowmedia.co.za)
