Tintswalo Atlantic Lodge in Cape Town will complete rebuilding and be fully operational by the end of October. The lodge will officially reopen on November 1.
The lodge, at the foot of Chapman’s Peak, was burnt down during the Cape Town mountain fire that started on March 1.
Guests who had previously stayed at the lodge, assisted in a community project to rebuild the lodge. Approximately 750 trees, donated by Just Trees, were planted by the guests.
Ryno and Melissa du Rand, GMs of Tintswalo Atlantic, said: “We have forged great relationships with our past guests and so we sent out emails to most, made a few phone calls to others, and offered them a personal invitation to join us in replanting trees on the property. The reaction was overwhelming.”
