City Lodge has announced the opening of Town Lodge Port Elizabeth, the group’s fifth hotel in the city. Construction of the property began in July 2009 and the hotel will be fully operational by December 15, 2010.
Many of the eight-storey hotel’s 203 rooms have views of the coastline and the city’s beachfront.
With the opening of Town Lodge Port Elizabeth, the group is represented by each of its four brands – Courtyard Port Elizabeth (91 rooms), City Lodge Port Elizabeth (147 rooms), Town Lodge Port Elizabeth (203 rooms) and Road Lodge Port Elizabeth (92 rooms) – situated within walking distance of each other opposite the renowned Humewood and Hobie beaches. The group also has a 90-room Road Lodge at Port Elizabeth Airport, giving it a total of 623 rooms in Port Elizabeth.
The opening of Town Lodge Port Elizabeth also brings to an end the group’s biggest ever expansion phase, which has seen it open eight hotels since the middle of 2009, taking the total numbers of rooms offered by the group to 6 440 throughout South Africa.
