Sea Cliff Spa and Resort in Zanzibar has officially opened its nine-hole, 13-tee golf course.
The course was declared open at the launch, which took place on February 8. The course was designed by Peter Matkovich and includes many natural features, running past tropical bush, indigenous trees, coastal dunes and a mangrove area. Two of the holes are alongside the Indian Ocean.
There is also an international-standard practice facility that includes a full-length driving range with chipping, bunker and putting greens. The course is par 70, which includes short to long par threes, a variety of par fours and some par fives.
Professional South African golfer, Dale Hayes, said: “The views are spectacular, the rooms are beautifully appointed, the food is fantastic and the swimming pools are amazing – what a place to get away and unwind, and now you can play golf too!”
