AMID the airline industry being under threat worldwide and the aviation sector at an alltime low, Air Namibia is experiencing great demand from the UK market.
The airline managed to achieve a 40% growth in the European market in 2008 compared to the previous financial year. The carrier’s average load factors are currently exceeding 75% - this being attributed to its competitive prices.
In addition, it continues to increase UK visitor numbers to Namibia due to the confidence and continual support from both the local and travel industry, says Wimpie van Vuuren, manager for the UK and Europe. “Over the years Air Namibia has supported and committed itself to the travel trade and UK market by consistently delivering service and managing the business to accommodate the demand and ensure sound financial principles.”
Air Namibia provides two services weekly between London Gatwick and Windhoek.
