Airlink changes firearm policy

AS of November 1, Airlink will no longer transport firearms, other than hunting rifles.

This is due to changes in legislation regarding the ownership, handling, use and transportation of firearms. Airlink said it was no longer viable for it to continue with full-scale firearm transportation.

Airlink said that it would however, continue to accommodate hunters travelling to certain destinations, as hunting was a valuable tourism activity. The airline will transport hunting rifles to and from OR Tambo, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Kimberley, Polokwane, Phalaborwa and Kruger Mpumalanga airports.
