A WELCOME lifeline is being extended to Namibia Wildlife Resorts. The organisation has for some time been experiencing “considerable problems” with infrastructure improvements and services due to financial and managerial constraints. NWR has now been promised financial support to build a new resort at Sesriem in the Namib-Naukluft Park and to upgrade the Okaukuejo, Namutoni and Halali resorts in Etosha National Park, among others. Work on these projects will begin in November, says the organisation. An interim md, William Ndeutapo Amagulu, has been appointed, as have four additional senior staff members to address the organisational problems within NWR. Natalia Thomson (nataliat@nowmedia.co.za)
