Breaking news: Velvet Sky flight delays

ACSA has confirmed that at least two Velvet Sky flights were delayed this morning as a result of a dispute with a service provider.  The confirmed flights affected are the 5h45 flight from OR Tambo to Cape Town and 06h10 flight from Durban to OR Tambo.

ACSA spokesperson Solomon Makgale told eTNW that the most current information available to them is that the 05h45 flight from OR Tambo to Cape Town has a new departure time of 09h45.  A new departure time for the Durban to Johannesburg flight is still being established.

Makgale commented that the reason for the delay, according to information received, is that some of the airline’s service providers are reluctant to provide them with service. Makgale said that ACSA will be meeting with the airline’s top management to discuss the matter.

However, according to the most recent updates the dispute between the airline and the service provider in question has been resolved and the airline is expected to resume flights.
