The City Lodge Hotel Group, through its wholly owned Kenyan subsidiary, Fairview Hotel Limited, has reached an agreement to develop a 170-room City Lodge Hotel within the Two Rivers development, which is under construction in Nairobi and due to open in October 2015.
The total cost is estimated at US$23m (R244m) and construction is expected to begin in January, 2015, with completion scheduled for October, 2016.
The Two Rivers development will comprise 850 000 sqm of office, residential, retail, hotel and entertainment facilities.
The hotel group has also reached a land-lease agreement in the Ilala Municipal District of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on which it plans to develop a 147-room City Lodge Hotel. This development is expected to cost around $22m (R233,5m), with development expected to start in the first quarter of 2015.
