Great Plains to open new camp in April

After some delays, Duba Expedition camp will open in a few months.

Duba Expedition Camp in Botswana has broken ground and will open on April 6, Great Plains Conservation has announced.

The new camp will comprise six tents under light cotton canvas, each with en-suite facilities and larger guest sleeping areas. The main area is made up of a combination of dining and lounge tents shaded by mature ebony trees.

“The new site is set on the banks of a floodplain and river just over a kilometre away from the present camp, with easy access to water based activities (subject to flood levels) and the main island where our guides spend most of their game viewing drives now,” the company said in a statement.

When the new camp opens in April, all bookings from the existing Duba Plains Camp will shift to Duba Expedition Camp as Duba Plains Camp will be completely rehabilitated. This camp is expected to reopen in early 2017.
