Ingwenyama Conference and Sport Resort in White River, Mpumalanga, has started the first phase of a two-year development project.
The property has added 24 guest rooms specifically to accommodate groups. A dedicated check-in area is located at the rooms with coach access, and the first-floor rooms are accessible by ramp. The interiors were designed in a contemporary style and feature 100% cotton duvets, a separate bath and shower as well as a balcony with outdoor furniture. All rooms offer twin three-quarter beds, which can be converted to king and can accommodate a third person sharing.
The redevelopment of Ingwenyama follows demand from international and local groups requiring facilities near the Mpumalanga attractions and the Kruger National Park. It was clear that a dedicated group wing was called for, said Martin Tyschen, GM Ingwenyama.
The resort will add a further 44 standard rooms as well as a 1000-seat conference centre.
