BONTEBOK National Park officially opened the Lang Elsie's Kraal rest camp offering 10 self-catering chalets.
The total cost of construction was R3,5m, secured by the park from the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism's social responsibility programme.
The smallest of South Africa's 22 national parks, Bontebok National Park is part of the Cape Floral Kingdom, a World Heritage Site, and one of the largest remaining 'renosterveld islands' with several endemic plant species.
The rest camp has caravan and camp sites with and without power, depending on availability and the guests' preference.
The park is home to the once-threatened Bontebok species (now counting over 200, with a total world population of approximately 3 000).
