Morukuru Family has announced that Allan Jones has officially joined the group this June as General Manager of AtholPlace Hotel and Villa in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
Jones studied Hospitality Management in Cape Town, Western Cape. He has worked for international hospitality companies in Scotland, England and Florida, USA. When returning to SA, he worked for La Residence in Franschhoek, which is part of The Royal Portfolio.
“I am looking forward to helping grow the hotel’s footprint in Johannesburg and South Africa,” said Jones.
Morukuru Family also welcomed Nel-Marié Kelderman this month, as Head of Morukuru Reservations.
Abby Swartz has started her new position as Marketing and Promotions Manager for the Nordics region at South African Tourism.
Swartz previously worked as an Assistant Manager for International Marketing at South African Tourism
The Federated Hospitality Association of South Africa (FEDHASA) Cape announced the new members elected to the regional board, at the Century City Conference Centre, Cape Town, Western Cape on June, 08.
The newly elected board members were announced as: Joep Schoof who has been named as chairperson of the hotel segment and Ndaba Dube as the chairperson of the young professionals segment, as well as Zaid Adams as the alternate of the restaurant and catering segment.
“We are thrilled at the new board appointments and look forward to cementing old relationships, building new ones with the members who have joined and making a meaningful contribution to the hospitality industry in the Cape region,” Rosenberg said.
Lischen Gurovich has been appointed as the new Group Talent Officer at City Lodge Hotel group.
Gurovich joined the group in 2010, and was previously the Assistant GM of City Lodge Hotel Lynnwood. Her new role will involve talent acquisition and retention, focusing more on managing development, succession planning and developing talent for the groups 57 hotels. Gurovich has an Honours degree in Industrial Psychology and a tourism qualification.
Satsa office assistant,Patricia Dilotsotlhe, has resigned and will leave satsa at the end of June to retire.
Tintswalo Mashale will be taking over as office assistant at SATSA shortly.
