The Protea Hospitality Group has introduced additional benefits for Prokard Rewards Programme members, with effect from August 1.
The extra benefits include allowing guests to use Prokard Rands to pay for any services or extras during their stay. The redemption process has also been simplified with a new a mag-strip on the cards, which allows guests to cash in Prokard Rands against their bill by swiping their Prokard at check-out.
Protea Hospitality Group Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue, Danny Bryer, said the group had also introduced a Prokard Bronze Card – an entry-level card offered free to guests who stay at Protea Hotels and African Pride Hotels. The Silver and Gold Prokard memberships remain.
Prokard profiles are now incorporated into the new proteahotels.com website, allowing members to view how many Prokard Rands they have accrued and how to redeem them.
Bryer said the new benefits had been created because of the evolving needs of loyalty card holders. “We conducted focus groups with our existing loyalty members and, through our guest feedback, we realised that expanding and enhancing the value proposition and simplifying the redemption process further would make Prokard even more user-friendly and rewarding.”
