A NUMBER of upgrades are under way at the Shakama Private Game Lodge in the Waterberg, resulting in a five-star grading for the lodge.
The conferencing unit, which was recently damaged by a fire, will reopen next month. It will comprise the Induna room, which can seat up to 30 delegates, the Wine Cellar for up to 10 delegates and four breakaway areas.
It also launched the Shakama Wellness Centre, which includes a gym, sauna, Jacuzzi and therapy rooms. A range of beauty treatments and massages are available at the spa.
Another new development is the Shakama Village, which gives 29 people the opportunity to own a one-hectare plot. Three waterholes are to be constructed on the property to enhance views and attract more game and wildlife to the area.
