Swartberg Hotel in Prince Albert, Western Cape, is upgrading its facilities and is expected to complete refurbishment by spring.
The hotel is renovating its daytime coffee shop area and evening restaurant and a shaded parking area and a gym are being added.
Last year the rooms were redecorated with new beds, linen and small furnishings.
“We are trying to, as far as possible, keep to the charm of our beautiful Victorian building,” says Melinda Esterhuizen, GM of Swartberg Hotel, adding that the original antique furniture is being retained, while a few additional pieces are being bought.
