Visit Rwanda, the official tourism brand of the Rwanda Development Board, has announced multi-year sponsorship agreements with the LA Clippers, Los Angeles Rams, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park.
The deals mark the first time an African tourism brand has partnered with an NBA and NFL team. Existing partnerships include Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Atlético de Madrid and an academy programme with FC Bayern Munich.
Jean-Guy Afrika, CEO of the Rwanda Development Board, said: “This engagement enables us to export Rwanda’s unrivalled natural beauty and extraordinary biodiversity to the people of Los Angeles as well as NBA and NFL fans everywhere.”
As part of the engagement with the Clippers, Visit Rwanda becomes the exclusive jersey patch and coffee sponsor of Intuit Dome. The brand logo will appear on all game and practice jerseys. The partnership will also include court refurbishments and coaching clinics in Los Angeles and Rwanda.
The Clippers will support a basketball court refurbishment in Rwanda, host youth coaches from Rwanda for training in San Diego and send coaches to Rwanda for clinics.
On the Rams side, Visit Rwanda becomes an official international tourism sponsor of the team, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. The sponsorship includes entitlement rights to two premium spaces within SoFi Stadium, the West Owners Club and the Level 3 North Canyon Basin as well as advertising on the stadium’s Infinity Screen, LEDs and IPTVs.
