Zambia's new visa fees come into effect

FINALLY, Zambia’s new visa fees have come into effect!

Over the past several weeks there has been talk to decrease the charges after newly elected president, Rupiah Banda, vowed during his campaign to reduce visa fees for visitors to the country.

However, when exactly the new visa fees would be implemented could not be confirmed with conflicting stories emerging from various governmental departments.

After weeks of uncertainty, the Department of Immigration in Zambia and the Zambia Tourist Board have confirmed that a single entry visa now costs US$50 with a multiple entry costing US$80.

“We have been waiting for instruction from the Zambian Department of Home Affairs. It is now confirmed that the visa fees have been reduced,” says Mr R.K. Ndumba, first secretary of immigration at the Zambian High Commission in South Africa.

Visas can be organised prior to travel or on entering the country.
