Additional changes on Airlink’s JHB, Upington route

Airlink has announced further enhancements to its Johannesburg- Upington schedule. The announcement follows the airline’s recent introduction of an additional morning flight on the route from May 6.

Airlink has retimed its second flight of the day on the route, from 09h20 until 11h00, to enable additional connections for both domestic and international travellers.

“The re-timed flight will therefore provide additional connections with the later morning inbound international arrivals into OR Tambo, such as from Munich, other domestic arrivals from for example Port Elizabeth and East London, as well as regional flights from neighbouring countries such as Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe,” said a statement by the airline.

In addition, Airlink will also be adding capacity on its Friday afternoon flights with the application of an 83 seat Avro RJ Regional Jet aircraft.

“With the increased frequency of up to three flights per day, enhanced connectivity with domestic, regional and international flights, coupled with the increased capacity on Fridays, Airlink’s schedule has been optimised in-line with growing demand for travel to the region,” continued the statement.

“Airlink is proud to have been able to have been able to participate in this growth to the benefit of all stakeholders,” concluded the statement.
