Air Mauritius upgrades long-haul fleet

BY April next year Air Mauritius will have replaced its two B767s with a full complement of A340-300Es as part of the upgrade of its long-haul product. The addition of three new-generation A340s – the first in November, second in December and third most likely in April – will bring the total number of A340s in its fleet to eight. Raj Bhujohory, gm: Australasia, Africa and Indian Ocean, said that Air Mauritius would use one of them on its Saturday service between Mauritius and Johannesburg from mid-January 2007, when capacity demands required it. Air Mauritius is also looking at adding a third frequency on its Mauritius-Durban route in April next year. Darren Sandras (darrens@nowmedia.co.za)
