Botswana: Botswana intensifies anti-poaching efforts

Botswana is bolstering its anti-poaching drive.

Botswana will build three camps to intensify its anti-poaching efforts in Maun, Kasane, and Kang.

The initiative comes from the country’s Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, Conservation and Tourism, and will be implemented by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks.

Alice Mmolawa, the Ministry’s Chief Public Relations Officer, said construction would start next year and take two years. Each camp will cost an estimated BWP70 million (€6m).

Botswana is bolstering its anti-poaching presence across the country as poaching elsewhere in Africa increasing.
