Bubbles and high tea at the Courtyard

The flagship Courtyard Hotel Waterfall City in Midrand, Johannesburg, has added a High Tea experience with a difference to its food and beverage offering. Teaming up with Pongrácz, one of South Africa’s Méthode Cap Classiques, Executive Chef Keegan Maistry and his team have developed a signature selection of sweet and savoury foods to pair with bubbly or tea and coffee.

The first High Tea service will take place in the Club Lounge on Saturday (June 4) from 14h00 to 16h00, and will thereafter be offered on the first and last Saturdays of each month. The event will be open to 24 people at a time and costs R465 (€28) per person. Booking ahead is essential.

Items on offer will include the classics (sandwiches, scones, tartlets, and chicken and mushroom vol au vents), sweet delicacies (cheesecake, croquembouche, macaroons, tiramisu and truffles), and savoury snacks (vegan tofu and vegetable pinwheels, bruschetta, blini, and more).

June also sees the introduction of several new winter dishes to the menu at The Protea restaurant and The Highline gourmet lounge at the hotel.

Some of the new dishes on The Protea menu include a range of soups, vegan burgers, and lamb shank. The Highline menu will see additions of spicy fishcakes and The Mega Board meal, which includes 500g BBQ ribs, chicken wings, fish goujons, and more.
