Classic Portfolio welcomes Congo camps to its portfolio

Western Lowland gorilla is among the wildlife found in the Odzala-Kokoua National Park.

Classic Portfolio has welcomed Odzala Discovery Camps to its collection.

Operated by the privately owned Congo Conservation Company, Odzala Discovery Camps is situated in the Odzala-Kokoua National Park and is the only tourism business in the Republic of the Congo (Congo-Brazzaville).

A new Let L aircraft means guests can access the camps via a two-hour flight, which replaces the 14-hour road transfer from Brazzaville. Scheduled flights depart every Thursday between Brazzaville and the private airstrip in Odzala-Kokoua National Park. Private charters can also be arranged for alternative days.

Odzala Discovery Camps operates two camps inside the Odzala-Kokoua National Park, and a third, Ngaga Camp, on a private concession bordering the national park. Ngaga Camp and Lango Camp each consist of six rooms, with Mboko Camp as the base camp, consisting of 12 rooms, including two family rooms.

Wildlife found in the area include forest elephant, leopard, bongo, Forest buffalo, Giant Forest hog, hippo and Western Lowland gorilla.

The Congo Conservation Company has also collaborated with the government to protect the forest and wildlife species unique to the Odzala-Kokoua National Park, with an emphasis on the Western Lowland gorilla.
