Debts force closure of Greyton hotel

The Post House Country Hotel in Greyton is closed until further notice, according to a notice posted on its website. The hotel was built in 1860, and once housed one of South Africa’s oldest post offices. 


According to an article in the Sunday Times, a trail of debts by hotel Manager, Louis Kruger, forced the closure. Tourism Update contacted Kruger’s lawyer, Martin Kruger, of Kruger Blignaut Attorneys, who declined to comment on the situation. 


The hotel’s website said that any business creditors or patrons who were owed monies for goods supplied or services rendered and bookings made should note the following:
