Entrance fee to the District Six Museum will increase from R15 to R20 as from November 2.
However, the R5 entrance for school children and South African pensioners will remain constant and District Six’s former residents and other areas of forced removals will continue to enter for free.
Entrance to the exhibition – Fields of Play: football memories and forced removals in Cape Town, located in the museum’s Homecoming Centre, will also increase to R20.
The exhibition has been temporarily closed due to ongoing restoration work. The date for re-opening, predicted for the end of November, is yet to be announced.
