Located within Fancourt’s newly refurbished Manor House boutique hotel, the original restaurant has received a complete transformation into a fine dining restaurant called Henry White’s. Named after the first owner of Fancourt, Henry Fancourt White, it features classic international cuisine with an à la carte menu prepared by Chef, Charles Hayward, previously Executive Chef at La Residence Boutique Hotel, in Franschhoek.
Murray Aitken, Hotel General Manager of Fancourt, describes the opening of Henry White’s as a ‘return of the classic restaurant’ to the Garden Route: ‘The global dining scene is full of restaurants attempting to cash in on the latest culinary trends, yet often closing just as quickly as they open. But many landmark, classic restaurants like the new Henry White’s continue to serve meals to generation after generation. These pillars of the epicurean community have withstood the test of time, and for good reason, as they stayed true to their culinary beliefs. This is what we are creating at Henry White’s – an ageless restaurant renowned for providing a superb fine dining experience, that will be here for many years, consistently serving great classic cuisine.’
With a capacity of 60 diners, seating options include a private dining area for groups, as well as a romantic table for two in the terraced courtyard.
In addition to four seasonal menus per year, gourmet tasting menus are featured that include signature dishes and favourite menu items, complemented by Henry White’s extensive wine list.
